Training Programs at TPA
Psychology
The Psychology Externship Program
The Psychology Externship program at Talbot Child Psychology (TCP) is a 10 to 12-month placement that provides therapy-focused practicum training experiences in school-based mental health while offering ample opportunities to gain additional specialized training exposure designed to lay the foundation for future Advanced Practicum in either school-based mental health or feeding psychology.
Externs must be actively enrolled in a qualified accredited educational program. After successfully completing the program, externs will receive Academic Credits toward their degree.

Social Work
Social Work Field Education
Talbot Psychology Alliance also supports social work education through field placement opportunities for students from Salisbury University. Social work trainees participate in supervised learning experiences that help bridge classroom education with real-world behavioral health practice. Field education at TPA may include exposure to assessment, care coordination, documentation, case conceptualization, advocacy, and collaborative work with children, families, and adults in a private-practice setting.

Counseling
Counseling Practicum & Internship Training
Talbot Psychology Alliance is proud to serve as a clinical training site for graduate counseling students from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Through supervised practicum and internship experiences, counseling trainees gain hands-on exposure to community-based behavioral health care, clinical documentation, treatment planning, ethical practice, and client-centered therapy. Our goal is to provide a supportive learning environment where emerging counselors can develop confidence, professionalism, and strong foundational clinical skills.
